Network Management Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to define the standards and procedures for managing ArkLaFiber’s network infrastructure to ensure data integrity, network security, and operational efficiency. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and third parties who access the network.

Scope

This policy covers all equipment, systems, and devices connected to the ArkLaFiber network, including but not limited to:

  • Servers
  • Workstations
  • Network devices (routers, switches, etc.)
  • Mobile devices
  • Cloud services

Responsibilities

The IT department (or relevant personnel) is responsible for managing the network and ensuring compliance with this policy. Responsibilities include:

  • Regular monitoring of network activity
  • Implementing security measures
  • Managing bandwidth usage
  • Maintaining and updating network devices
  • Providing user support for network-related issues

Network Access and Usage

  • Only authorized users may access the network.
  • Access credentials (e.g., usernames, passwords) must be kept secure.
  • Users are prohibited from sharing access credentials or allowing unauthorized users to access the network.
  • Use of the network for illegal, unethical, or disruptive purposes is strictly prohibited.

Security Measures

To ensure the security of ArkLaFiber’s network, the following security protocols will be implemented:

  • Firewalls must be configured and maintained to control inbound and outbound traffic.
  • Antivirus and anti-malware software will be installed on all systems.
  • Regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests will be conducted.
  • All network devices and systems must be updated with the latest patches and firmware.

Bandwidth and Traffic Management

  • Network traffic will be monitored to ensure efficient use of bandwidth.
  • Priority will be given to business-critical applications and services.
  • Non-essential activities (e.g., streaming media, personal file downloads) may be restricted to ensure network performance.

Data Privacy and Confidentiality

All data transmitted over the ArkLaFiber network is considered confidential and must be protected. Employees must:

  • Adhere to company guidelines for storing and transmitting confidential information.

Incident Response

In the event of a network breach or security incident:

  • The IT department must be notified immediately.

Network Maintenance and Monitoring

The IT department will:

  • Perform regular backups of critical network systems and data.
  • Monitor network performance and address any issues promptly.
  • Document and track all network-related incidents and changes.

Compliance

This policy aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Non-compliance with this policy may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment or legal consequences for contractors and third parties.
